Oh Ashlee, Thou Art Humorous
So naturally we slept through Lovely Jude Law's appearance on SNL. Did he look pretty? Was he funny? Who cares about funny. Did he look pretty? On Sunday morning, we were sent the following link about Ashlee Simpson's gaffe. Her record company blamed a computer glitch and she blamed her band for Sunday morning's incident, which cut off her planned performance of the song Autobiography on the network comedy show. According to The Boston Herald, a blogger from Simpson's official site provided the following:
"Ashlee can't sing. She tried all day Friday, but was whining to her voice coach. They decided to leave her mike (sic) on so she could sing along to the track, but after the first line or two of the first song, (they) turned her off cause she was awful,'' wrote Barbscoop. So, as of the first song, all the mikes were off. Now, they had the wrong song queued up for the second song, obviously. . . . They were going to turn on Ashlee's mike so she could sing the real song, but decided not to because the band was just playing the first song. The guys were smiling cause they were simply thinking ``What a (bleeping) cluster (bleep).''
"What can I say folks, live TV," the ever lovely Jude Law stated at the end of SNL. This is where we ask why couldn't this happen to J.Lo?! We've been waiting years for her to fumble on stage or flub some line presenting at the some grand event. Why Ashlee and not J.Lo?
