Portions For Foxes
Just a few hours until we see Rilo Kiley play at the Bowery Ballroom. The above picture was taken in January of this year at Maxwells. They were performing 'Arms Outstretched' with Tilly and The Wall. Unfortunately we will be miss tonight's opening bands cause Spec Boogie's party is also tonight. This Friday, will mark a trip to Philly to catch another RK show. It's going to be wild.
Whoa! Talib Kweli has managed to hit the Top 20 despite little exposer (link: Sohh.com). Kweli's single, 'I Try,' is now MTV buzzworthy. The Beautiful Struggle is holding steady at number 14 with sales of 63, 000 copies. (via Nielsen SoundScan).
Another iPod rival will be out in November in the name of Rocbox from entrepreneur Damon Dash. "We saw Apple making a killing, and we thought it would be a good market to go after," Dash said in an interview. Under ROC Digital (led by a consortium of partners that include Damon Dash, Kareem "Biggs" Burke, Josh Taekman, Shae Hong and Danny Lavy), the new Rocbox MP3 player comes with Hitachi's compact Travelstar C4K40 1.8-inch hard drive to offer 20 GB of storage capacity without sacrificing style. With a chrome-colored front, glowing blue buttons and a black rubberized back, the hard-drive Rocbox is shinier and a bit bigger than an iPod. A 20G Rocbox will cost you $299 and provides 600 hours of music playback. A smaller white and aluminum flash drive player is $159 with enough memory for about eight hours of music.
