Another NYU Suicide
A second-year film student fell to her death yesterday near the entrance of the Tisch School of the Arts at 286 Mercer Street. It was the seventh high-profile death of an N.Y.U. student in a year, and the second death of a Tisch student in less than a week. Last Wednesday another student reported feeling ill in the university residence hall. He was taken to New York University Downtown Hospital where he later died at 3 AM. Though these two deaths are unrelated, it is a bit strange as class hasn't even started yet.
NYU has set up counseling hours for students and have established a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week hot line to connect students to counseling or health services.
