Appreciate This
Last night, Aeki Tuesday and John checked out the KRS-One show at Sobs courtesy of Flavorpill. As part of Hip Hop Appreciation Week (May 16 - May 21), KRS-One and other hip hop artists will get together in an eight day series of event. Ranging from lectures to independent movie screenings and taking place in New York and New Jersey. The Temple of Hip Hop, founded by KRS-One in 1997, is meant not only to celebrate the hip-hop community, but also to raise money for charity, heighten social consciousness. According to KRS, The Temple of Hip Hop was founded to promote and protect the nine elements of hip-hop, which he described as Breakin, Emceein, Graffiti Art, Deejayin, Beatboxin, Street Language, Street Knowledge, Street Fashion and Street Entrepreneuralism.
Yesterday's show at Sob's featured an all-star performances by PRT, Freddie Foxxx, Chuck D (Public Enemy), Rahim, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Razhel (The Roots) and more. There were two great beatboxing cats who performed but we didn't get their names. If you went to the show and know their names leave a message in the comments. For the most part, the show was great but long. We left at 12:55 AM and still heard the crowd going bananas as the 1 train pulled up. Below are some images.

Kurtis Blow
Razhel (The Roots) went on stage to quiet the audience down for a bit. We recorded a little bit of his performance and will try to find a way to upload it to this site.
