- Has Lauryn Hill actually dropped from the face of this earth? This Rolling Stone article should answer a few questions.
- The Roots are kicking out jam sessions back in Philly for their forthcoming Tipping Point.
- I heart Palomar and they are participating at the Kindercore CMJ Showcase this Wednesday (If you are on their list you could get in FREE). Again there are too many shows to see during CMJ. I'll be heading to the Vicious show at Sin-e on that day.
- Oh, Peaches, you say such darn things.
- Doctor's project a full recovery for De Niro.
- Did not know Andrew WK and Joan Jett were going to be playing at Warsaw. Also did not know Guided By Voices were coming back to NY.
- The Fiery Furnaces gets a shout out in the NY Times. Yes, they've grown on me.
- Seriously David Blaine has got to stop!
- The Stills are having a record release party tomorrow at the Vice Store (Lafayette & Prince). The band will play an acoustic set followed by Guest DJs. Oh yeah, there will be FREE Red Stripe Beer 7pm - 10PM.
And now a word from George W. Bush:
"Roses are red
Violets are blue
Oh my lump in the bed
How I've missed you
Roses are redder
Bluer am I
Seeing you kissed by that charming French guy
The dogs and the cat, they missed you too
Barney's still mad you dropped him, he ate your shoe
The distance, my dear, has been such a barrier
Next time you want an adventure, just land on a carrier."
Ladies and Gents, I have an announcement to make. Last night I sat through a baseball game. A Yankees baseball game! I did not squirm in my seat and I believe that was a great step on my end to embrace America's favorite pastime. I'm so proud of myself.
