Thursday Nights, Friday Mornings
The folks at Insound.com should pat themselves on the back for throwing a great party on Thursday night. We were not going to be fashionably late at this party for we know the lines would be around the block and they were. Yet when we arrived at 99 N. 13th Street, there were already some police activity and fire marshals reviewing blueprints. The perks of being on the guestlist was not being turned away because by 9 pm only guestlist individuals were allowed to go inside. At around 10 pm, Janine and Aeki Tuesday finally made it inside Volume. We missed so many bands but quickly found friends and partied until 2 am. It's always great to run into Cameron and Bidi at events like these. The surprise of the night was finally meeting Peter of Soviet Panda. Sorry we didn't get to talk a bit longer. We were also introduced to Eric from Say Hi To Your Mom who was there to enjoy the festivities.
The Unicorns took the stage around 1 am. They were excellent and fun to watch. After their set, we went back to the "disco room" and danced as DJ Reset kept the party going on and on. Afterwards, there was a dash to the Lorimer stop not before stopping at Kellogs due to late night (or early morning) munchies.
