Leaps From A Single Bound
Director McG fleas from Superman project. "When I flew to New York to scout, I became enamored with our greatest American city. It was clear to me that this was Metropolis. As a filmmaker, I felt it was inappropriate to try to capture the heart of America on another continent. I look at Superman as a character that embodies all that is beautiful about America." We think New York is big enough for two super heroes. As the Spiderman franchise moves on to part three, we may never see Superman on celluloid. Well at least we get Batman with Christian Bale.
Not much of a superhero in our eyes, Bobby Brown has turned himself in to authorities and was released after posting a $2,000 bond at Fulton County sheriff's department in Atlanta. Alas, Whitney Houston was no where to be found singing "You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman" to Brown.
There was an interesting article in the NY Times this weekend about the Rebirth of the New York Sneakerhead. Nike has become the largest shoe and design company surpassing Reebok and Adidas. The article goes on to ask why LA is not on this sneakerhead style. Udi Avshalomov of Broadway Sneakers had this to say: "Because it's part of the New York way of life. L.A. is never going to understand the New York sneaker game. New York is not as trendy as the rest of America and the world. It's authentic, part of the history and heritage of the New York culture." We would never define ourselves as a sneakerhead (we don't own more than 10 pairs) but we can appreciate the sneaker aficionados such as Nick.
