We're Ba-a-a-ck!!
We won't bore you with details of the two hospitals we went to. Okay, maybe just a little. The first hospital we stayed at, we had a really great roommate until she went home three days later. No more than four hours later, a nurse wheels in a octogenarian with the worst coughing case. Yep, it was going to be a long night. Besides being awaken by nurses for our nightly needle poking (there were many, as one friend said our "arms will look like a heroin addict when we are through."), our new roommate was setting the world record for the most phlegm coughing per minute. We could almost live with that but what got us so riled up was the numerous bedpan mishaps during that night. She refused assistance by the nurses because she wanted to do it herself. Well she did...all over the floor. Gahh! We are not heartless or cold but that's just EWW! This "poor" lady with the bad lung infection and bad bedpan manners also had a numerous drug problems (why must doctors talk so loudly about patients when said patient is still in the room?!). The methadone pills made her cranky too. Needless to say, that was not pleasant. The other hospital we went to was a little better but we were not down for the 10 plus hours we had to endure in the emergency room on a stretcher because they had to more rooms.
Thanks to everyone and their kind get well wishes. Believe us it's good to be home! It's so good to be back!!
