. : Oh, sing me a song

Life has been a little weird for me as of late. Leaving me pondering over and over again about how everything is changing for the better or worst. It's a growth process so I'm not really complaining. I am dealing and observing.

I was recently diagnosed with vWD (von Willebrand's disease). I did a bit of reading up on it and surprisingly found that it is a very common disease. Von Willebrand disease is like hemophilia as it is passed down through genes (usually affecting men), but vWD affects both men and women. One in one hundred individuals have it but systematically in one in one-thousand.

It was first recognized by Erik von Willebrand, hence the name, in 1926 in Finland. Now that I actually know what I have, since it took the doctors a while to figure it out, it's not as scary (although). I can pretty much manage having it by eating properly and taking the required medicine. I am almost positive that my grandmother, on my mother's side, had it but of course she wouldn't have know what vWD was. She probably thought it was normal. Also because diagnosis can be difficult. Two of my small cousins have it now. I will have to take demospressin (DDAVP) to help the situation since there is not a cure for vWD.

Bah...enough of this medical hoopla.

My travels and upcoming travels to the city that never sleeps is taking a big chunk out of my savings. I am so tempted to work part-time for my father in the "family business" as he likes to call it. He is in real estate. I so do not want to do real estate. I worked for a mortgage company years ago and didn't like it much. It was a bore. A bore - I say! But what can one do when you are low in funds? Yeah, that's right work in the family business. Anyone who is looking to purchase a house or maybe is in need of assistance in selling a house should email me NOW!

The Drool Factor

Here are some things that I've recently been drooling over:

MiTAC unveils Smartphone 2002-based Mio 8380

The New TiVo?!

Olympus C-730 Ultra Zoom

DoCoMo

Archos Multimedia Jukebox 140 (with digital recorder)

I shamelessly got these links from Gizmodo. It's the best site EVER!
