Yesterday I ventured to Williamsburg to attend Double Exposure, a benefit party, presented by Positive Focus at Galapagos Art Space. I arrived there a little past ten just in time to see Naked Highway and Man in Gray perform their set. Before and during Naked Highway and Man in Gray's set, I enjoyed the digital photoshow of 200 slide images from local participants. Some of the images were inspiring. I am definitely taking classes this summer. I struck up a conversation with Martin Dixon, the keynote speaker of last night's event, and viewed his recent photo-essay book, Brooklyn Kings. I seemed to have offended him a little by not knowing who he was when he said hello. Sorry. I wasn't too sure what to make of Amy Etling Fletcher's 11 minute video show. Positive Focus is still accepting photo submissions for their next event taking place in May at Southpaw. I'll have to see if I have something to submit.
I recently found this site. One word appears on the screen and you will have sixty seconds to write about it. Neat.
