The Dears @ Mercury Lounge
At long last, we got to see The Dears play at Mercury Lounge. The last time they played at the much-loved venue we fell ill and couldn't attend the show. Seeing them play yesterday was such a treat. Our End of a Hollywood Bedtime Story CD has been worn thin since we purchased it back in 2002. So there we were there mouthing every damn word like a Maroon5 fan. They played every song from No Cities Left, one song from Ochestral Pop Noir Romantique and a new song. They should have played some more old songs though. Viva La Spinart Records for promoting the hell out of The Dears.
After the show, Brooklynvegan, Central Village and Aeki Tuesday tried to make it out to Tribeca Grand Hotel to see the Kaiser Chiefs but didn't make it on time. According to Central Village's friend, they were "really fucking good." Another time maybe.
