BBC News NY Talent Poll
BBC News held a poll for the music scene's most promising act. The poll titled, Sound of 2005, lists the top 10 bands in 2005. The critics were asked for tips for three acts they thought were capable of reaching the top in their chosen genre, either in terms of sales or critical acclaim. The artists could be from any country and any musical genre. Below is their pick for 2005.
*The Dears are hardly new as DJ Martian pointed out in his post today. We've been listening & talking about them since 2002. The Dears will play at Mercury Lounge on January 15th with Benzos, Saint & Lovers (formerly Sons of Sound) and The Headset. Buy tickets. They will also be on Carson Daly. To obtain free tickets to that taping on Jan. 10th click here.
