Not to mention Radiohead, the Pixies, Kraftwerk, Air, Wilco, the Flaming Lips, Dizzee Rascal, the Thrills, LCD Soundsystem, Electric Six, Sahara Hotnights, Kinky, the (International) Noise Conspiracy, Prefuse 73, T. Raumschmiere, Sidestepper, ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, !!!, Atmosphere and rap act Eyedea & Abilities. Whoever is going to this thing MUST, as it is your duty, report minute by minute details for those unfortunate (Aeki Tuesday) to attend. (link)

Coachella is set for May 1-2 at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, Calif. Tickets go on sale Feb. 14.

"We don’t really think it’s necessary to have segues or bridges," says Gardner. "If you like this part and you like that part, just put it together! We don’t really have a formula. We don’t ever go in saying, ‘OK, we’ve got the structure, we’ve got the two verses, now we need a chorus.’ We’ve never once done that. A lot of people think we have 12 songs in one. When we write it’s like, ‘Is that a good enough change? Is it drastic enough?’ We throw away anything we don’t think is good enough. And if that means a song is going to end up with 12 choruses put together instead of a verse-chorus-verse format, then fine."

We were about to utterly hate The Strokes for not coming back to New York after announcing their second US Tour. We imagined a full on haterade campaign with images of Nick Valensi, as our heroin chic poster boy but we received this email and breathed a sigh of relief:
