Nip/Tuck
Oh, boy did everyone get a treat from watching the Super Bowl yesterday. When we found out that Janet Jackson was going to perform for the Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime show we did a mighty yawn. In fact, we have been yawning since Janet's last album. But she set the world buzzing again with her halftime show duet with Justin Timberlake. JJ and JT performed 'Rock Your Body' and at the end of the song JT reaches across JJ's Iron Madden-esque outfit, tore part of her leather bustier and then voila boobers. With breast in full view, JJ was horrified. This remind us of the Lucy Lawless incident when she sang the national anthem in 1997 at a Red Wing game and then bam cleavage.
Leave it MTV, who produced the half-time segments of the Super Bowl, to be "totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the content of the show. It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime" according to an NFL executive vice-president. CBS apologized for the JJ incident after the network received several calls concerning the R-rated show. JT did make a statement, "I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl." Hmmm..sure. Also MTV's apology was iffy. "The tearing of Janet Jackson's costume was unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and was inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance. MTV regrets this incident occurred and we apologize to anyone who was offended by it." This is definite buzz for Janet since she will be releasing her new album, DAMITA JO in a few months.
