It's like that

The NY Times has an article on the Britain's Great Black Hip-Hop Hope, Dizzee Rascal. He is also Spin's Artist to Watch. I haven't heard of this kid before but I won't be surprised if he starts popping on people's playlist next year. Click here to watch his 'Just A Rascal' video from Xl Recordings.

Lauryn Hill stuns Vatican at Xmas concert (via hiphopmusic.com). According to a Rome newspaper she stated the following: "I did not come here to celebrate the birth of Christ with you but to ask you why you are not in mourning for his death inside this place." Organisers said that her part will most likely be cut from the Christmas Eve Special.

In collaboration with Reebok, Pharrell Williams is set to put out two new clothing apparels by next summer. The names will be Ice Cream (a collection of men's and women's footwear) and Billionaire Boys Club (a men's clothing collection). Billionaire Boys Club could be spotted in Jay-Z's 'Change Clothes' video. Speaking of Young Hov, according to Sohh, his group (Bruce Ratner and Vince Viola) is leading the top bids for Nets sale again. If they win the bid the Nets will be moving to Brooklyn.

There are two Joe Strummer Tribute shows coming this December. One in Chicago and the other in New York. On December 22nd, Ari Up (of The Slits); Clem Snide; The Detachment Kit; Diryt Mary; Hammel on Trial; Jesse Malin; New Blood Revival; The Realistics; Radio 4; Ted Leo (solo; and special guests) are slated to appear at Irving Plaza ($15).

The odd, sweet and magical Shins are indie rocks new King. I seriously overlooked their last album from my best of 2003 list. It has been growing on me for the past weeks.

Found this link from Nick Catchdubs, the killer whale Keiko, star of Free Willy, was buried secretly Monday near the Norwegian fjord.

Old news but this weekend, Saddam Hussein, was captured. Many people are speculating that this was all a ploy in Bush's favor for his re-election campaign in '04. if in 7 months from now Bin Laden is captured in a hole just like Hussein, it's not just going to be a coincidence.
