I recently read this article from the New York Times about the "black rock" movement being the Next Big Thing. It might be the next big thing for some but for me this music has been around but it was only heard in smaller groups. The most amusing quote from that article came from Cody Chesnutt. "In rock you can write a song about a dog and it makes sense." Speaking of Mr. Chesnutt images of him playing at SOB's on july 2002 can be seen here. [via: Urban Voyeur]
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is getting the Criterion treatment (Feb. 25th). More of an incentive for me to actually own the movie. Yeah, and maybe I'll add Starsailor's new DVD to my list also.
This past week I noticed that a few words and phrases crept it's way into my everyday vocabulary and I make no excuses for them:
"Fuckwit!"
"Julian Cassablancas is hott."
"Lingua."
"Fuck, the fucking fuck!"
"Carrie-Ann Moss is hott."
"Oh, he/she thinks he/she is a rock star."
"High fructose corn syrup."
