First Impressions | Artists To Watch in 2006 (Part 2)
We finally present the second installment of Artists To Watch In 2006. Look out for Part 3next Tuesday in two weeks. You can view Part 1 here.
We Are Wolves [www.wearewolves.com]
Members: Alexander, Vincent and Antonin
Mini Bio: About how many bands in rock have wolves in there name? We've lost count but this Canadian band is set out to inform you they are not just another band that likes Canis Lupus. This trio is based out of Montreal. They describe their sound as "a post-punk landscape filled with analogue trees. It's like rock after the post-modern explosion." They have the cajones to back it up too. Oh sometimes they sing in French. You should learn a few words beside je m'appelle George.
MP3: Little Bird
Video: Vamos A La Playa

Page France [www.pagefrance.net]
Members: Michael Nau, Clinton Jones, Whitney McGraw, Bryan Martin, Jasen Reeder and a slew of revolving members.
Mini Bio: Page France formed by brainchild Michael Nau based out of Maryland, falls somewhere in a dreamland. Much like Sufjan Steven, the songs on "Hello, Dear Wind" revolves around a personal connection with a higher power. Christian themes are frequent in Nau's lyrics. He continues to challenge himself creating a sonically pleasing canvas.
MP3: Junkyard
MySpace: myspace.com/pagefrance
The Lovemakers - [www.thelovemakers.com]
Members: Scott Blonde (vocals, guitar), Lisa Light (vocals, bass, violin), Jason Proctor (keyboards) and Josh "The Eagle" Kilbourne (drums)
Mini Bio: This Bay Area band signed to CherryTree a new imprint from Interscope based on a first impression. Blonde & Light were kicked out of another band while coming up with the materials "Time Of Romance" or it could have been Light channeling of Yoko Ono... So the story goes. 80s synthpop infused with a mix of Human League, The Cure and Erasure, The Lovemakers makes no apologies. Their onstage antics involving band make-outs and using a dildo as a pick are quite legendary. Their music is sexy as their band name suggests.
