Son Volt Returns | King's She's Into Star Wars

After a 7-year reprieve, Son Volt returns with the highly anticipated "Okemah and the Melody of Riot." We first caught ear to Son Volt's music due to Details Magazine's compilation CD part of a yearly renual promotional campaign. This was when Details was a little less Queer Eye. It was Son Volt's "Drive The View" that really struck out and thus began our love for alt-country music.
Here's the Okemah and the Melody of Riot Tracklisting:
1. Bandages & Scars
2. Afterglow 61
3. Jet Pilot
4. Atmosphere
5. Ipecac
6. Who
7. Endless War
8. Medication
9. 6 String Belief
10. Gramophone
11. Chaos Streams
12. World Waits for You
13. World Waits for You (Reprise)
The 12-track album will be released on July 12th. Son Volt’s international tour will begin in September 2005. The first single is called "Bandages & Scars". Okemah and the Melody of Riot features Jay Farrar on vocal, guitar, piano, harmonica, Dave Bryson on drums, Andrew Duplantis on bass, backing vocal, and Brad Rice on guitar. The album was produced by Farrar and recorded straight to analog tape in St. Louis during October 2004. Legacy Recordings will release the album in DualDisc format with exclusive interview and video content.
On May 24th, Rhino is released Son Volt's "A Retrospective 1995-2000" with 20-tracks. Includes five previously unreleased tracks, including four-track demos of "Tear Stained Eye" and "Loose String," and a live version of "Medicine Hat."
