Blackout Wednesday

Yesterday, we experienced a blackout around our Jersey neighborhood. It was really an inconvenience since we had just hit up our local Target for DVDs (Mystic River & City of God). For two hours we waited and waited. Neighbors from the next block Finally around 10 PM it came back on. "Yippee!" we shouted as we simultaneously turned on the DVD player, TV and computers (yes, it's like that). Not less than 30 minutes later it goes out again. We resolved on sending out a few text messages to individuals for entertainment but that could only last for so long. The electricity came back around 1 AM. The moral of this post is Aeki Tuesday has learned nothing from last year's blackout. It's strange how living without electricity for a few hours can seem like the world's coming to an end.
