Paul Winfield died of a heart attack on Sunday. He was 62. He has acted in a slew of films and television shows. You probably remember him playing Don King, The Women of Brewster Place, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan or in the miniseries Queen. Did not know he had a partner for 30 years who died of a rare bone disease in in 2002. Any way he'll be missed.
In Asbury Park, NJ a gay couple who had been issued a marriage license by the city clerk's office were married yesterday by the Deputy Mayor. New Jersey officials quickly disaggreed and the state attorney general said he would seek an injunction this week to bar such actions. He also said that the the official in Asbury Park is issuing invalid documents and that the license was "a worthless piece of paper." (link NY Times)
P.Diddy does a Hov move by saying that his next album will be his last: "I don't want nobody to just go crazy or nothing," Diddy cautioned recently. "It's not going to be as dramatic or traumatic as Jay-Z retiring." (link MTV News). Maybe he'll retire that awful Making The Band show too.
Computer addict croaks at desk - A computer game addict in western China collapsed and died at his screen after playing the popular online game Saga non-stop for 20 hours, a news report said today. That's dedication!
