Last week I jumped with glee because I was able to get tickets to see Sleater-Kinney. They play tomorrow at Southpaw. The venue is super small which means that I'll be up close. Haha! Their show at Roseland last Febuary rocked. This will be the second time I'm going to see them and I'm really excited. If you are going to be attending that show tomorrow night you shouldn't pay attention to the girl dancing all crazy-like. Vicious, hosted by Jenyk and Melody Nelson, is also on that night. If I have time I will swing by and maybe run into a fellow Friendster or two.
This year Liev Schreiber & Co. take on Henry V for Shakespeare in Central Park. As always getting tickets means waiting in an outrageously long line. Last year it took me four tries for me to be able to see Twelfth Night. Since Twelfth Night is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays, it was worth trying all those times. I'll try next weekend for tickets for this one.
This past 4th of July weekend, I was invited to got to several barbecue parties but declined. Instead I stayed home and relaxed. I did end up doing a lot of things I've been putting off. Since I am all rested I am ready for what this week has to offer.
I need to make time to go to the Bowery Poetry Club soon now that I have someone who enjoys that sort of stuff. I have a few things that I've written down in the past months that I want to read.
I'm not sure what to make of this new show Bravo has coming out on July 15th. Here is a brief description:
They are the Fab 5: an elite team of gay men who have dedicated their lives to extolling the simple virtues of style, taste and class. Each week their mission is to transform a style-deficient and culture-deprived straight man from drab to fab in each of their respective categories: fashion, food and wine, interior design, grooming and culture.
Could it score more raitings than UPN's America's Next Top Model?? Hummm....
I've been hearing from a few co-workers that Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is worth seeing. I don't usually take their advice on movies to see. Roger Ebert is only giving it 2 1/2 stars. If Arnold's "She'll be back" comment doesn't pull me in then I could always wait for the DVD with all the extra features.
