Turkey Day / Maroon5 Part Deux

Thanksgiving is here! It is time to be with family and friends, time to give thanks to many things, and time to get stuffed. I'll be doing all that in a few hours.

I have rested and now I feel 85% better. Unfortunately I caught a little cold from Tuesday night.

Fabs and I made our way to Hoboken, NJ to see Maroon5 for the second time on Tuesday. I have been to Hoboken before but I was always driven there. We took the Path and we caught a bite to eat before going to Maxwell's. We got there and we were told that it was a small venue but oh my. We hung out before it started and spotted other fans from the last M5 show we saw at The Bowery Ballroom in August. The opening band was Locket. Some Members of M5, Jesse Carmichael, Adam Levine, and James Valentine, made their way in the crowd to watch Locket perform. Locket has a show at CBGB's today.

Around 10, Maroon5 made their way on the stage. The crowd went wild! I can't for the life of me remember the first song they did. They played their whole album (12 songs), threw in a little P. Diddy "Bad Boy for Life" and did an "Closer" by NIN. The best part was when they played Harder to Breathe, This Love, Sunday Morning and She Will Be Loved. Jared from Carbondale came on the stage during Sunday Morning, took James place and jammed out a bit. He was also played with M5 at the Bowery show in August. The lights on stage were a little too bright and Adam commented during the show that he can't see the audience and that he "hopes you all are there." He asked how many people are actually from Hoboken only one girl put her hand up. Overall it was a fantastic show. I was so close to the band I that I could Adam Levine's Calvin Klein underwear. I left my camera at home by my television and have been cursing myself ever since for my idiocy. At the end, the band stayed and mingled a bit with the crowd. Fabs, who has a crush on Ryan Dusick, was also fuming about the camera issue as she stood inches away from Ryan when we were trying to buy some M5 gear.

We rushed out of Maxwell because we didn't want to get stranded in Hoboken. We expected about 2 inches of snow when we walked outside the venue but it was only raining. We missed the path for and ended up waiting one hour for the train back home. So that was it. When Marron5 comes back to the city I will be there again with a camera in hand.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
