Third Impressions | The Strokes Releases Third Album
On Tuesday, The Strokes released their third album, 'First Impressions on Earth'. A few years ago, The Strokes came on the music scene in a fury. They were dubbed the saviors of rock & roll. Critics called their music what New York has been missing since The Velvet Underground. Now with three albums under their belt does that statement still ring true? Not entirely. First Impressions is a slightly unspectacular effort. Julian Casablancas’ lyrics are not what they use to be. The songs seem too peppy and long (nearly 53 minutes long.). The Strokes recruited producer David Khane (Fishbone, Paul McCartney, Cher) for a different sound after having "musical difficulties" with Radiohead god, Nigel Goodrich. Yes, it is different. It may grow on us by the end of February. We are not completely bashing this release. Actually, "On the Other Side" is a great song. It is perhaps their saddest to date.

Aeki Tuesday would like to let you know that we are closely the following the Fabrizio Moretti and Drew Barrymore relationship and have we got news for you... Fabrizio is NOT getting married to Drew. Our second favorite mopped-haired, too skinny in jeans wearing, drummer is satisfied with just being in love with Drew. Nothing more. Sweet.
