With members hailing from Texas, California, Connecticut, and Tennessee their sound is a byproduct of these diverse backgrounds and influences. Hi Red Center's music is a collection of noisy textures, driving rhythms and honed melodies that recall styles ranging from punk to Balinese gamelan. HRC! completed their first west-coast tour in July of 2004 (performing with the Gorge Trio and Cheval De Frise) and can be heard on radio stations including WFMU (NYC), WNYU (NYC), KFJC (San Jose), KALX (Berkeley), KZSU (Stanford), WZRD (Chicago).
Members of HRC have performed with Anthony Braxton, Rubber O Cement, the San
Francisco Contemporary Music players, EARplay, Sfsound and Bistro Cosmopolitan.
