Getting Theirs: Hip Hop Videos Gone Wild

For a number of years, we have seen music videos go from beyond extreme to soft porn. With BET's show, called BET Uncut, which airs on Wednesday through Friday at 3 a.m., we are shown the "uncut" videos from artist such as Ludacris, Nelly, Master P, Nelly, Cassidy, and Shorty Black. Nekesa Mumbi Moody recent article focuses on the nature of Hip Hop Videos & BET. The article goes on to mention that "the videos on "BET's Uncut" make Madonna seem as tame as Clay Aiken." The uncensored videos are a little bit too much for TV so you can imagine what the uncut versions might be like.

Even Big Boi of OutKast -- an avid strip-clubber who had a stripper pole built into his house -- has been taken aback by some of the content.
"Some of it is getting really distasteful -- it's like giving it a bad taste, it's really exploiting women," he says. "What they're doing now it's kind of like soft porn. I saw some (stuff) the other day. ... I didn't even know they could do that on TV."

If you fighting insomnia around 3am on Wednesday - Friday and might feel compel to catch Uncut, one of BET's senior vice president, Stephen Hill, has this to say:

"Any kid up at 3 o'clock in the morning, their biggest problem is not BET."

Well sure it is, is that why BET Inspiration with Brother Gerard is right after "Uncut?" We definitely would need to be cleansed after all that sinful naughty video watching.
