On Saturday, Philadelphia's wildly popular
Beat Society put on an event at the
Knitting Factory featuring a number of producers and performers. Bahamadia, The
BB Queen, and special guest Wordsworth and Punch came out for the event that didn't end until 3 am. The four producers (Illmind, LF Daze, Oddisee, and 88 Keys) went round for round with their works. It wasn't at all a beat battle but a display of craftmanship. More pictures are posted

Metric's System: Beats, Political Subtext And No Hangovers

NY Times reports on the modern day
swinger's lifestyle. It reminded us about when we used to received several requests to go to
Cake Parties. About two years ago, the onslaught of sites such as
Nerve.com, blew up like wildfire. They were considered the sites you are not supposed to go when working (yeah, right). Along the way Nerve suitors came calling and invites were sent out for you to attend a Cake party.
What's a Cake party!? We searched the site and were a little thrilled. Cake advertise that it is an entertainment company dedicated to providing education and information about female sexual culture. Their popular themed parties such as Club.Cake, are geared towards women. We never ended up going to one of those parties but from the pictures we saw from those events, it sure looked like fun.
