Damon Dash in the news again about his label, Damon Dash Music. The Post reports that after signing the deal with Universal Music's Island Def Jam, Dash made demands for more money on marketing and promotion. Mr. Dash held an open casting call in New York for his new reality show "The Ultimate Hustler" on Monday. The show is set to air on BET.

Tunes. Beginning May 11, Yahoo Music Unlimited will offer service in a trial version with an introductory price of $4.99 per month for an annual subscription, or $6.99 on a monthly basis. This beta version allows consumers to play tunes from a catalog of more than 1 million songs, transfer tracks to portable devices, as well as share music via Yahoo! Messenger. Downloads purchased through Yahoo Music Unlimited can be burned onto CDs, transferred to compatible portable devices, and used on a total of five PCs. Shares of Yahoo! were up 19 cents to $34.25.
Microsoft introduces Windows Mobile 5.0 platform, a new version of Microsoft's software platform for mobile devices and phones, on Tuesday. It offers updated Office software (view and create charts in Excel Mobile, edit documents with graphics using Word Mobile a new PowerPoint Mobile app for rehearsing presentations), persistent memory storage for preserving data even when batteries are dying, Media Player 10 Mobile for improved multimedia displays and support for hard drives. This raises the question: If you already have an MP3 player, do you really need MP3 capability on your phone?
